

On September 20, 2021, Domenico Grande passed away peacefully at the age of 87 years.
Domenico was predeceased by his wife, Maria Rosina, of 64 years and his siblings: Antonio, Gregorio (Maria), Giuseppe (Concetta), Felicia (Francesco), Francesca (Francesco) and Francesco (Angela).
Domenico will be dearly remembered by his daughter, Maria (Tomas), son Francesco; and grandchildren, Joseph (Nunziata), Tomas (Jenelle), Robert (Katelyn), Alexandra (Joey) and Sebastian (Jessica), as well as his 11 great-grandchildren.
He will be also missed by his sister-in-law, Angela, and brother-in-law, Francesco, as well as by many nephews, nieces and friends.
Domenico was born on April 3, 1934, in Amato, Italy. He married the love of his life in 1956 and left Italy in 1960 to seek a better life for his family in Canada.
Domenico initially worked in construction and contributed to many vital projects that shaped downtown Winnipeg. He later proudly joined the Canadian National Railway where he provided 25 years of dedicated service installing and maintaining rail lines.
Dad was a loving and caring father who always put his family first. Known for his incredible strength and resolve, he also surprised many with his generosity and kind heart. He especially enjoyed sharing his passions for gardening, wine making and playing cards with his family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Holy Rosary Church. Viewing is at 9:00 a.m. followed by mass at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Gerry Ward presiding. Entombment will follow at the Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley Street.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Joseph, Tomas and Robert Masi, Sebastian Grande; as well as nephews, Vincenzo De Caria, and Luigi Torchia.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Domenico's memory to the Canadian Lung Association.
