It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on September 28, 2012. Ethel was predeceased by her loving husband Almer of 57 years. She is survived by her son Gary, daughter Gail (Brian), daughter Tammy (John), and son Thomas (Rita), grandchildren Brianne (Ken), Brad, Jillian, Lana, Sasha and Joshua, great grandchildren Rhiannon and Cade; sister Winnie, sister-in-law Becky, brother-in-law Raymond (Jean). She will also be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and good friends. Ethel was predeceased by her brother David, and brother-in-law Bert.
Mom loved golfing, bowling, knitting, traveling especially the Grand Forks runs and cherished time spent with her family. Mom will always be remembered for her kindness, sense of humour and most of all for her love of her family. Mom will never be forgotten and will always be remembered in our hearts.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of the staff at Seven Oaks Geriatric ward, who showed such compassion and loving care to mom during her time there.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Home. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, friends so desiring may contribute to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 9Z9.
