It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gennaro Esposito, 65 on January 21, 2023 with his family by his side. Gennaro is survived and missed by his loving wife Josephine of 42 years, and his children Vincenzo (Barbara) and Fernando. Forever cherished and remembered by his brothers and sisters Gabrielle (Agata), Maria, Berlantina (Michele), Liberata (Italo) and Lidia (Quinti), his many nieces and nephews and family and friends in both Italy and Canada. Gennaro was predeceased by his parents Nicola and Antonietta and his brothers Mario and Leonardo.
Gennaro was born in Fichieri, Campli, Teramo, Italy in 1957 where he grew up on a family farm and developed a love of tractors. He then immigrated to Canada in 1980 and married Josephine exactly one month after arriving. Gennaro had many accomplishments in Canada but his most proud was the birth of his sons.
Gennaro’s career in Canada began with Mario’s Concrete where he was for over 30 years before venturing out and starting Mr. Concrete Patch with his son. Gennaro will always be remembered first and foremost for his generosity. He had passion for gardening and always proud to show it off. Often times you could always find Gennaro sharing a good story or joke with family and friends at many gatherings. Gennaro was very proud of his cultural traditions and took great pride in teaching his sons.
Our family would like to thank all of our family and friends for their continued love and support. We would also like to thank the many doctors, nurses and staff from Cancer Care Manitoba, Grace Hospital and Riverview Health Center Palliative Care Unit for all of their support and care during this difficult journey.
In his memory, donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba or Riverview Health Centre Foundation in lieu of flowers.
Condolences will be held at 10:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua, 250 Burrin Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba followed by mass at 11:00am on January 31, 2023 with Father Sam Argenziano presiding. Entombment will take place at Waverley Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
