With hearts full of sorrow and in loving memory we announce the passing of Gisele Ramsay (nee LaBossiere) on September 12, 2026. She was 104 years old the middle child of 11 siblings, and wife of 55 years to John Allan Ramsay who predeceased her in 2001. She is survived by her sister Marilyn Reid in Saskatoon. Mom and Dad settled into their first home in St. Vital, Winnipeg after World War II ended and then across the street on the Red River, where they lived for decades.
Mom was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and leaves behind a very large loving family and extended family. She loved that many of the cousins, inlaws and outlaws keep in touch thanks to Connie’s family Messenger Group. In fact one of the last things she said before passing was “ I have such a wonderful family”. Our large family and out of towners got together to celebrate Gisele’s one hundred birthday and this was the best farewell because Gisele was there to enjoy it and there were so many of you. She was known to so many of of us as an example of a memorable homemaker, beautiful decor, fabulous meals, homey, welcoming and fun times with all the family. Mom was active in the church, school teas and donated her time helping with a special needs child. She delighted in hearing about the latest additions to the family and seeing their pictures, antics and development.
Gisele is survived by her children, Joy Gunn, John D. Ramsay (Dianne), Jacqueline Darguzas and her grandchildren, Geoff Gunn (Shelly), Lisa Cusack (Kevin), Stephen Gunn (Sherry), Andrew Gunn (Vanessa), Jack Ramsay (Jessie), Eden Ramsay (Brad), Kristin Darguzas Auger, Dave Darguzas (Natalie) and numerous great grandchildren, great great children, and wonderful nephews, nieces, inlaws and outlaws.
The family would like to thank the staff of Foyer Valade for the wonderful care and kindness Mom received while in their facility. Very special thanks to Ingrid who every caregiver should strive to be. The respect, kindness and care she demonstrated made Mom feel so valued and loved.
We are so grateful that so many of this large family got to celebrate Gisele not long ago. A small gathering of immediate family will say our last farewell with prayers at the grave site as we lay her to rest. In lieu of flowers embrace your family and each other in her memory.
