Gloria Ormiston

MARCH 18, 1922 – MARCH 27, 2012

Suddenly but peacefully at the Golden Links Lodge on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 our mother Gloria passed away at the age of 90.

Gloria will be sadly missed by her daughters; Barbara Bader, Susan Suderman (Don), Marlene Catellier (Luc), grandchildren; Gary, Heather (Tristan), Sharon (Alan), Christy, Karen (Jeff), Chris (Tanis), Clayton (Laura), and great grandchildren; Cole, Colin, Dallen, Sarah, Taylor, Carley, Brant and Nick. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law; Roy Ormiston, Jim McPherson, sister-in-law Doreen Finegan and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years Murray in May 2004 and her twin sister Patricia McPherson in September 2000.

Mom and her twin sister Patricia were born to August and Helen Muller. She grew up in Fort Rouge where she met the love of her life, Murray, and they married on July 3, 1943. They raised their three daughters in Norwood and later moved to St. Vital. She took great pride in her home and was a wonderful cook and baker. Our Mother was a very kind and gentle person with a great sense of humour. She was very proud of and interested in all of our lives including her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.

You can only have one mother,

Patient, kind and true;

No other friend in all the world,

Will be the same to you.

When other friends forsake you,

To mother you will return;

For all her loving kindness

She asks nothing in return;

Sweet memories we recall;

Of a face so full of sunshine,

And a smile for one and all.
