Howard Morrisseau, affectionately called “Buddy”, aged 79, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023. He will be sadly and deeply missed by his loving family. He is now in Jehovah’s hands to be remembered and restored to a better life in the coming new system of things.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 57 years, Mildred, his three children Pam, Giselle (Scott), and Brent (Lindsay), as well as eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his daughter Shannon and his grandson Steven.
Howard was born in Sagkeeng First Nation where he made many cherished memories. He loved his Mom and Dad, as well as his seven brothers and three sisters. Howard and Mildred married on May 28, 1965. Later he moved to Thompson, Manitoba where they had three girls. It is there they began studying the Bible and would eventually dedicate their lives to Jehovah. Their fourth child, a son, was later born in Calgary.
Howard left residential school at a very young age to work with his Dad. Even without opportunities to pursue education, he proved himself to be an exceptional provider for his family. He worked at the nickel mines in Thompson Manitoba as a young father for years before leaving to start many of his own endeavours. Howard was known to all as a man of strong work ethic, which he prided himself on.
Howard will be remembered for his witty sense of humour. His unique way of storytelling provided many, many laughs. He also had an unwavering love and concern for his family. He loved listening to music, watching many different sports, going to the Forks, and to his favourite place to shop, Costco.
Howard had a strong faith in Jehovah to whom he was very thankful. He was especially thankful for the strength he received through his congregation meetings in his final days.
We will mourn his passing and celebrate his life. He touched our lives in so many ways as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Thanks to all that shared life with him along his journey.
The family looks forward with great anticipation to the resurrection in earthly paradise conditions, where we will be together again. (Revelation 21: 3,4)
A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 10th, at 2:00 pm CT, at 937 Gateway Rd, Winnipeg MB.
