Iris Doreen Newman

Iris went to be with her Lord & Saviour suddenly and peacefully in her home on April 10, 2022.

Iris was predeceased by Herb, her best friend and husband, her parents Jacob and Helen (Giesbrecht) Winters as well as her sister, Naomi Ansell. She is survived by her extended family and many friends who miss her dearly.

Iris was born in Winnipeg on November 13, 1944. She farmed near Brunkild, Manitoba with her parents and later her mother. Herb and Iris were married in 1971 and farmed in Brunkild and Sanford area until they retired and moved to Winnipeg.

Together they served faithfully in their church for many years. They were involved with several ministries with a passion for missions.

Herb and Iris enjoyed travelling together all over the world for missions, vacation, and enjoyed their winter get-aways with friends and family.

A memorial service will be held for Iris on Saturday, May 28, 2022; 10am at Thomson “In the Park”, 1291 McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Iris’s charitable organization, In the Company of Friends, which will be building a school in memory of Herb and Iris. All donations can made at her service or sent to 144 Sedona Cr., Wpg., MB R2R 2W7, and will be receipted for income tax purposes.
