Mrs. Irma Irene HILD
2 December, 1925 – 27 September, 2020
Peacefully on September 27, 2020, Irma passed away at the age of 94.
She was predeceased by her adoring husband Erwin; brother Harry as well as extended family in Germany.
She was born in Kalisz, Poland on December 2, 1925. She met and married Erwin Hild in Germany, from where they then emigrated to Canada in 1953. Settling in Winnipeg, they joined the McDermot Avenue Baptist Church and became part of the German community. She spent her working years as a Travel Agent working with Western Overseas Agency. She and Erwin travelled extensively and in later years enjoyed going on cruises.
She had a happy and bubbly personality and her smile would light up a room. Visiting Irma and Erwin at their home was like visiting Germany, underlined by Irma’s exceptionally splendid baking & cooking. Of all her accomplishments and all that she had done in her life her greatest joy was travelling. She will be dearly missed by all.
In keeping with Irma’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private service will be held at a later date.
Thank you to all staff at Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home for the excellent care that you provided to Irma, making her last years’ comfortable.
In lieu of flowers a donation to Meadowood Manor would be greatly appreciated.

I have gotten knowlegde of the Pasing away of my aunt Irma just a couple of minutes ago
I remember our visits to Winnipeg in 1968, 1976 and 1982 very fondly. She was a wonderful energetic person, just like my father Harry, her brother.
Rest in place dear aunt Irma,

You will be missed and never forgotten. My husband speaks with fondness of the important part you played in his life growing up. I met you for the first time at you and Irving's twentyfifth anniversary celebration at the Happy Vineyard restaurant with so many good times at family celebrations since then. RIP Tante Irma.

Tante Irma and Onkel Erwin are both missed, but the memories of family times spent together over so many years will be treasured. Although our extended family in Winnipeg was small, we were together a lot and all generations were included. Thanks to my parents and their generation for instilling this value in my generation! Whether a weekend gathering at a relative's home, special occasions, fishing, mushroom picking or cottaging, we knew who our people were and gathered as much as possible. It was always fun to hear about Tante Irma and Onkel Erwin's trips. I'm so glad they enjoyed their years together.
Ruhe Sanft und in Frieden.
