

Jan is predeceased by her husband Gord, beloved daughter Darcey and brother Jim. She is survived by sisters Gloria, Barbara (Art), Pat (Bob), brothers Gord (Carolyn), Tom, Rick (Pat), her son-in-law Rob as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was passionate about many things. Her love of dogs notably Shelties, Royal Doulton figurines, gardening especially planting and caring for trees, fishing, bowling, reading mystery novels, TV sports and her family and special friends.
Jan worked for over 30 yrs years for the Government of Canada notably in the taxation department. She was well respected and appreciated for her leadership, initiative and integrity. Jan was recognized for her work numerous times throughout her career.
Her passion for animals was legendary. She never met an animal she didn’t love or who didn’t love her in return. She was a great supporter of numerous animal charities. Jan also supported the food bank in Lac Du Bonnet and numerous children’s charities.
Jan shared a very close relationship with her late daughter Darcey bonding over a shared love of Royal Doulton collectables, animals, Saturday shopping trips and Olive Garden lunch dates.
The family would like to extend an appreciative thank you to Dr R Guzman, the staff of the St Boniface Hospital cardiac step-down unit and the staff of 4A South. They showed great care and concern for not only Jan but the rest of her family as well.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honour to the Winnipeg Human Society or Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation.
