Joan was happiest when cooking and gardening and looking after her family. Many of the memorable meals she created were recounted while recently celebrating her 95th birthday. Joan delighted in her grandchildren and great grandchildren and treasured her lifelong friendships with fellow war brides and her close friend Madeline Petrovich.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Concordia Hospital for the kind compassionate care extended to Joan and her family. Special thanks to granddaughter Erica Halmarson for providing care and comfort to Joan during her final years at Concordia Village.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at Green Acres Funeral Home, July 7, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in Joan’s name to a charity of choice.
Loved forever.
