John Frederick Hatley

August 27, 1940 – May 18, 2013

It is with deep sadness that we announce John Fredrick Hatley passed away peacefully with his wife by his side at Boundary Trails Health Centre at the age of 72 years.

John will be dearly missed and forever lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Dianna; children Danny (Jules), John Jr. (Andrea), and Duane (Juanita); grandchildren Wyatt, Michael, Ellen, Branden, Nicholas, and Kaylee.

He was predeceased by his parents Mike and Margaret; parents in law Marie, Paul and Elsie; as well as siblings Lorna, Arlene and Lorne.

John grew up in the north and was an avid outfitter, hunter and trapper. John and Dianna spent many years on the coast of the Hudson Bay, running their Silver Goose Lodge. John retired from Manitoba Hydro in 2004 and then moved south. John loved to have friends around and was known for his cooking and entertaining.

The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and friends that helped John with his fight against cancer.

They would also like to send a special thank you to his good friends Lorne and Gwen Ross who were there for John every step of the way through his battle with cancer.

The service for John will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home.
