Peacefully, on January 13, 2012, John passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital.

In his early years, John had a great sense of humor and a love of the outdoors. While he became more isolated in his later years, he retained his love of the outdoors and his passion for model airplanes and ships. Until near the end, he loved to recount tales of his fishing and hunting adventures. The family would like to acknowledge with gratitude the enormous efforts Lorna made in his last few months and years to assist John with his life. The family would also like to thank Ray Richter and Al Ginter who were very good and kind neighbors to John.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life has been scheduled for 2 PM Friday, January 20, 2012, at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivary Boulevard. A private interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, friends and relatives may make a donation to the Mennonite Central Committee 134 Plaza Dr. R3T 5K9 should they so wish.
