Joseph Henry Doran

Following a courageous battle with cancer, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Henry Doran on October 31, 2014 at the age of 84 years, at the Health Sciences Centre with family by his side.

Joseph will be lovingly remembered by Phyllis, his wife of 60 years, sons Joe Jr. and Ken (Kathleen), sister Betty Johnson. He was predeceased by infant son Philip Joseph, father Joseph, mother Beatrice, sister Ellen.

Joseph will be remembered as a kind, caring and devoted husband and father who also actively volunteered his time in the community. Joseph's great relationship with sister-in-law Marilyn inspired his dedication to the Manitoba Developmental Centre in Portage la Prairie. In addition, Joseph volunteered at the Deer Lodge Centre as Bar Manager. His dedication to volunteering was recognized by the Province of Manitoba.

We appreciate the care provided by Dr. P. Czaykowski, nurse Denise, Dr. J. Milner, nurse Jennifer, and the team at Cancer Care and Health Sciences Centre.

A celebration of Joseph's life will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard following a private family interment.
