It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Judy Sawatzky on Monday, August 15, 2022. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her family: her husband Dave, her son Colin and his wife Danielle, her daughter Meaghan and her husband Ken, and her three grandchildren – Gwenyth, Oliver and Everly, whom she dearly treasured. She will also be deeply missed by her two siblings, Doug and his wife Louise and Sandy and her husband Bob, and three special nephews and nieces – Freya, Dustin, and Jessica. She also leaves to mourn her many in-laws in the Sawatzky family. She was predeceased by her parents Gordon and Esther Cook and her in-laws David and Anna Sawatzky.
Judy spent her entire career with the City of Winnipeg Water and Waste Department. Judy was especially proud of her Scottish heritage and wanted to visit Fair Isle where her mother’s family came from. In her spare time, she loved to cycle outdoors in the summer and do spin cycle classes in the winter. She ran marathons, took Tae Kwon Do and loved to swim. She enjoyed arts and crafts such as painting and jewellery making. She took photography courses and enjoyed doing wedding photography.
Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, be it camping, travelling, or just visiting each other’s homes.
A celebration of Judy's life will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In The Park" Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg, MB.
For those of you who cannot attend in person, the service will be live streamed on the following link:

Forever in our hearts Judy.
