Juliette will be lovingly remembered by her children – Karen (Keith), Barbara, Ann (Roy) and Christine; her grandchildren – Anthony (Becca), Jessica (Peter), Krysta (Will), Derek (Brandy), Chelsea (Dan), Austin (Jess), Emily (Manny), Lindsey (Shea); her great grand-children – Sarah, Iris, Leo, Juliette and Walker; her siblings – Roland (Barbara), Romeo, Ida, Maurice (Ann), Denis (Diane), Jules (Alexa), Mary-Anne (Gerry), Louise (Denis), Ted (Michelle) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Juliette is predeceased by her parents (Ted and Irene Gervais), brothers (John and Gerry Gervais) and sister Alice Falk (Harold).
Juliette was born on July 15, 1937 in St Eustache, Manitoba. She grew up in a large, loving family in Manitoba. Once she married she lived in Vancouver and Ottawa where she started her family and her career with CIBC. In 1978 Juliette returned home to Manitoba with her daughters and to be close to family.
Juliette loved being active, whether it was running marathons, hiking the west coast trail, cycling throughout many provinces, or skiing with the Charleswood ski club where she formed many close friendships. In her senior years she began competing in the provincial and national senior games in track & field where she accumulated over 30 medals (mostly gold) until finally retiring from the games at the age of 80.
Juliette was an amazing, caring, and kind mom who was always there for her daughters. She was a very involved Grandma who loved spending time with her grandchildren and took them on many memorable adventures. Juliette cherished her visits with her great grandchildren and her loving nature also extended to her many fur babies as well.
Juliette will always be remembered for her kindness, caring nature, sense of adventure and was happiest when she was surrounded by family.
A private celebration of life for immediate family will be held.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the staff on Simkin 2 at the Saul & Claribel Simkin Centre for their care, kindness and support that they extended to Juliette and her family during her stay.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or the Saul & Claribel Simkin Centre.
