After a long and happy life, June passed away peacefully on September 2, 2011.
She will be deeply missed by her husband Peter, step son Tony (Debbie), her devoted sister Georgie Hodges, her life time friends Sheila Mochoruk, Doreen McMillan and Anne Gray as well as Fran Booth and Jill Patrick who June referred to as the daughter she never had. June will also be missed by many friends and family far and wide.
June lived her entire life in St. Vital, Winnipeg and along with her sister Georgie, was an integral part of the St. Vital community. June’s career in healthcare spanned decades, the majority of which was spent as an EEG Technologist at the Children’s Hospital, Winnipeg. When June retired in 1988, she married the love of her life, Peter Baynton.
June was predeceased by her infant sister Stella and by her parents, Arthur and Lillie Hodges.
The family would like to thank the staff of 5 South and 4 South at the Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg for their care and compassion in June’s final days.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Meadowood United Church 1111 Dakota Street.
