It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Karen Drue McNaughton (Morris) on June 12, 2026, at the age of 77.
Karen was born on December 9, 1948, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Robert and Drusilla Morris.
She was predeceased by her beloved sons, John and his wife Bonnie, and Bruce; her parents, Robert and Drusilla Morris; her sister Sandra; and her beloved husband, Dan McNaughton, whom she married on August 22, 1970. She is now reunited with the love of her life, and they are together again after a lifetime of love and shared memories.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Shannon and son-in-law Michael; her sister Val and brother Ken (Trudy); her four grandchildren, Tyson, Gavin, Zack, and Zoey; and her great-granddaughter Arianna, whom she sadly never had the chance to meet. She is also remembered by many nieces, nephews, brother in laws who held a special place in her life.
Karen’s life was defined by her kind and gentle spirit. She had a natural warmth that made people feel at ease, and she carried a quiet strength through even life’s most difficult moments. No matter what she was facing, she was known for her soft smile and her ability to find light for those around her.
Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved spending time with and caring for in every way she could.
Karen devoted her early years to raising her children at home before entering the workforce. She later worked at Great-West Life and eventually joined Saan Stores Head Office, where she worked as an Assistant Buyer. She was proud of her work and the connections she made throughout her career.
She will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her. Her love, kindness and gentle spirit touched so many lives and she will be remembered always. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved.
Please join us as we gather to celebrate the life of Karen McNaughton on July 11, 2026 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Greendell Park Community Centre, 75 Woodlawn Avenue, Winnipeg. A time of shared memories and tributes will begin at 2:30 pm.
In lieu of tears, bring your stories. In lieu of sorrow, bring your memories. Together let’s celebrate Karen and the joy she brought to us all.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you
