Mr. Latchman Ragnanan

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Latchman “Sugrim” Ragnanan, age 91, of Winnipeg, MB. Latchman passed away peacefully on October 9, 2021 at his home in Winnipeg, surrounded by his wife and children.

Latchman was born on April 1, 1930, to John and Shiwratnie Ragnanan in No. 64 village, Corentyne, Berbice, Guyana.

He was a quiet man with a gentle spirit who loved the outdoors. Much of his life was spent farming, gardening and fishing. He lived for his children and grandchildren, they were his pride and joy. He will always be remembered for his kindness and compassion.

Latchman is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Dolly Ragnanan and children Rudy, Indrani, Rajin (Helen), Mohin, Indira (Donald), Sheila, Robin (Sandra), Priscilla, Navin and Seema (Winston). Grandchildren John, Michael, Nicolette, Ann, Matthew, Shoshanah, Joshua, Matthew, Davita, Malissa, Abigail, Leah, Daniel, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Shiwratnie Ragnanan, daughter Vedica, son in law Dave, five sisters and two brothers.

There will be a viewing held on Friday Oct. 15th, 2021 from 6:00-7:00 pm at Thomson In The Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard, Winnipeg, MB. The funeral service will take place on Saturday Oct. 16th, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Calvary Temple, 440 Hargrave St. Winnipeg, MB, following cremation at 3:00 pm at Thomson In The Park. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the congregation will be limited to 25 people. Please RSVP to 204-772-3851 if you plan on attending.
