Remembered with Love
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Laura at home with family by her side on August 8, 2021. She passed at the age of 59, after courageously batting brain cancer for almost two years.
Laura will be lovingly remembered by her husband Carl, daughters Jamie and Carly, sister Joanne, her father Harold, and many relatives and friends. Laura was predeceased by her mother Dolores.
Laura was born on April 3, 1962, to proud parents Harold and Dolores Trinkl. She grew up in Winnipeg and resided there for her entire life. Growing up, Laura and her family would visit their cottage at Twin Beaches. Laura attended high school at Silver Heights Collegiate and got a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba. Throughout her career Laura worked as a life insurance underwriter and obtained many insurance industry designations over time. Laura was an animal lover and had many dogs throughout her life including Baron, Barney, and Jake.
On November 2, 1991, Laura married Carl and adopted their dog Barney. Several years later she gave birth to Jamie and Carly. Laura stayed at home for a few years to raise her babies and remembered this time as one of the best periods of her life. Laura loved to go to the lake throughout her entire life. She and her family had a trailer at Pye’s Landing for many years, and cottages at Caddy Lake, Big Whiteshell, and currently at Red Rock Lake. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, listening to music, playing cards, going for walks, and having dinner parties with her friends.
Laura was well-travelled. With her family and friends, she travelled to many different wonderful destinations. Most recently, she visited and enjoyed Jamaica, Victoria, Hawaii, Great Britain, Italy, and France.
Laura was extremely caring, thoughtful, and generous. She would have done anything for her family. She will be forever missed.
A private service will be held for Laura. If you have not been invited and would like to attend the service please reach out to Carl or any family member.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Laura can be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.
