Born in 1942 he enjoyed a good life. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife, Diane, whom he loved deeply (a sentiment that he asked specifically to be written in this message), his three children: Tammy (James), Cindy (Rob), Allan (Carolyn), Diane’s children: Marcie, Sherry (Scott) and Laurie (Randy) and his many grandchildren: Sami, Christopher, Rebekah, Kaylee, Indiana (Dawson), Emily, Matthew and Danton.
Les was born in Killarney, Manitoba to Jack and Lena Turner. In his younger years he spent a short time in the military and earned some extra income as a snooker shark. From there he moved on to study accounting and enjoyed a long career as an accountant, retiring as the Controller of Bird Construction in 1998.
He was an avid golfer throughout much of his life and spent many a winter with Diane down south enjoying the golf and warm weather.
Cremation has taken place and he has been interned at St. John’s Cathedral in Winnipeg.
As per his wishes there was no formal service but a small gathering for family was held.
The family would like to thank all those who reached out during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers please hug someone that you love today.
