

Remaining to forever cherish Lawrence’s memory, are his wife of 64 years, Madeleine (nee Lafond), his two sons, Leonard (Denise) & Keith (Linda) and his three granddaughters, Denelle, Ashley McDonald (Adam) & Leanne. He is also survived by brothers, Walter (Wilma) and Kenneth, sister-in-laws, Gwen, Isabel, and Marjorie, and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Lawrence is predeceased by his parents, Julius & Elizabeth, and siblings Eleanor (Eric), Hattie (Ernest), Gertie (Bob), Wilfred, Harold (Ruth), Donald, Robert, George (Marlene), and Judy.
Lawrence was born in Rosenfeld, Manitoba. In 1950 he married Madeleine and they moved to Winnipeg. They resided on Rosemount Avenue until 2003 when they moved to Lindenwood Estates. Lawrence worked for MTS until 1953 when he started his 36 year career as a bus driver with Winnipeg Transit.
Dad and Mom were members of Hope Lutheran and Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.
Dad and Mom loved to travel, visiting Europe, Spain, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Alaska, Panama Canal and multiple destinations in Canada and United States; including a special family trip to Disneyworld. After retirement, Mom and Dad enjoyed many hours at their trailer at Lilac Resort with family and friends.
Dad will be remembered as a kind, gentle, hard-working and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 10:00 am Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff on the 2nd Floor of Poseidon Care Centre for exceptional care and compassion they provided Dad.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Children's Wish Foundation.
