It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Louella Plouffe age 87 on October 23, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Louella was born on August 13, 1934 in Plum Coulee, Manitoba to parents Bernhard and Maria Funk. She often reminisced about the many fond memories she had of the early years spent there. She told many stories of the hard but yet very happy times growing up in a large family.
Louella is survived by her son Bruce, daughter-in-law Wanda, sisters Tiena Juneau and Evelyn Barnfield; and many nieces and nephews.
Louella spent many years volunteering at the Victoria General Hospital where she worked in the gift shop. She delivered food trays to patients and also worked in emergency, she also helped make hats for the cancer patients in her spare time. Louella loved walking, she could be seen at least two to three times a week walking down Pembina Hwy to go to work at the Victoria Hospital. She loved cross country skiing, roller blading and taking care of her home and gardens which she loved.
We would like to give a special thanks to Janet and Bob Friesen, Laurel Martin, Lynda and Jerry Penner, Lois Verfaille, Dennis and Arlene Jordan for all there care and help.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors who helped take care of her in the last few days of her life, were very much appreciated.
A private service will be held.
Any donation can be made to the Victoria General Hospital or to CancerCare Manitoba.
We love you forever, you will be dearly missed.
