Louise Irene Marie Cote

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Louise, on Monday, May 25, 2026, with her family by her side. She was 77 years old.

Born in 1949, Louise married Raymond on August 12, 1972. Together they shared 27 years and raised two children. She dedicated much of her life to caring for others, beginning her nursing career at Saint Boniface Hospital where she worked full-time from 1970 to 1974. She later continued there part-time for another 11 years while raising her family before making a career change and joining Canada Post in 1990, remaining there until her retirement in 2010.

Family was always at the center of Louise’s life. She especially treasured time spent with her five grandchildren, whether babysitting, attending family outings, or simply enjoying everyday moments together. She had a passion for gardening and flowers, taking immense pride in creating a beautiful yard. Louise also enjoyed card games, dice games, puzzles, and needlepoint. Music was always close to her heart—her beloved boom box was never far away.

Louise will be lovingly remembered by her son Daniel (Shanna), daughter Lynne (Jason), her cherished grandchildren Jayden, Cara, Genevieve, Zoe, and Jack, her sister Jeannette (Scott), as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff and caregivers at Actionmarguerite St. Vital and the Grace Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Louise.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date with close family and friends.
