

Luis Alberto Salazar of Apopa, El Salvador, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, surrounded by his friends and family.
Luis Alberto was a man of deep faith and immense love for life, his family, his loved ones, and his friends. He was an exemplary and caring son who always looked after his parents, and with his noble heart, filled his siblings, nieces and nephews, and other family members with love.
At the age of 13, he joined the Catholic Neocatechumenal Way community. Full of enthusiasm and gifted with talent for singing, he began as a psalmist and from then on actively participated in his community in El Salvador. Upon arriving in Winnipeg, he continued his spiritual life within his community.
Luis Alberto left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew him. We will remember him with deep affection. For his parents, siblings, and other family members, he will remain in our hearts and memories through his joy, his smile, and his kind soul that always filled us with affection.
Luis is predeceased by his loving brother Roberto Carlos Recinos.
Luis is survived by his father, Roberto Salazar; his mother, Delmy Recinos; his older brother, Jose Balmore Recinos; his younger sister, Carolina Salazar; his Sister-In Law, Francisca Luz “Lucy” Recinos; his Niece Alejandra Caroline Salazar, Nephews, Jose Balmore Recinos Jr, Alejandro Recinos, Antony Recinos, Kevin Roberto Recinos, Jason Andres Recinos, Joshua Alejandro Recinos.
A Viewing will be held on Thursday May 28th, 2026, at 7 p.m. at “Thompson in the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Refreshments will be available.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday May 30th, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 315 Munroe Ave., officiated by Father Greg Mulligan and Father Janusz Maron. A Procession and interment will follow at “Thompson in the Park” Funeral Home and Cemetery.

Luis Alberto Salazar, originario de Apopa, El Salvador, falleció en paz el 13 de mayo de 2026 en Winnipeg, Manitoba, rodeado de su familia y amigos.
Luis Alberto fue un hombre de profunda fe y de un inmenso amor por la vida, su familia, sus seres queridos y sus amistades. Fue un hijo ejemplar y dedicado, siempre pendiente del bienestar de sus padres. Con su noble corazón, llenó de amor y cariño la vida de sus hermanos, sobrinos, sobrinas y demás familiares.
A la edad de 13 años, se integró a la comunidad católica del Camino Neocatecumenal. Lleno de entusiasmo y bendecido con un gran talento para el canto, comenzó sirviendo como salmista y participó activamente en su comunidad en El Salvador. Después de establecerse en Winnipeg, continuó su camino espiritual dentro de su comunidad de fe.
Luis Alberto dejó una huella inolvidable en todas las personas que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo. Será recordado con profundo cariño por su alegría, su cálida sonrisa y su alma bondadosa, que siempre llenaba de amor a quienes lo rodeaban.
Luis fue precedido en la muerte por su querido hermano, Roberto Carlos Recinos.
Le sobreviven con amor su padre, Roberto Salazar; su madre, Delmy Recinos; su hermano mayor, Jose Balmore Recinos; su hermana menor, Carolina Salazar; su cuñada, Francisca Luz “Lucy” Recinos; su sobrina, Alejandra Caroline Salazar; y sus sobrinos, Jose Balmore Recinos Jr., Alejandro Recinos, Antony Recinos, Kevin Roberto Recinos, Jason Andres Recinos y Joshua Alejandro Recinos.
El velorio se llevará a cabo el jueves 28 de mayo de 2026 a las 7:00 p.m. en “Thompson in the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Habrá refrigerios disponibles.
La misa fúnebre se celebrará el sábado 30 de mayo de 2026 a las 10:00 a.m. en la Iglesia Católica St. Alphonsus, oficiada por el Padre Greg Mulligan y el Padre Janusz Maron. Posteriormente, se realizará la procesión y el sepelio en “Thompson in the Park” Funeral Home and Cemetery.
