It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynda Rose Wilson, who lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Lynda was born on September 12, 1964, in Kitchener, Ontario, to her loving parents Jenny and Brian McCallum.
She started her career as a hairdresser and then moved on to open a home daycare, although she remained her family’s hairdresser throughout the years. After retirement, she spent her winters in Arizona, enjoying the warmth and sunshine.
Lynda will be deeply missed by her children, Alyssa and Aimee Wilson; her brother and sisters, Tom McCallum, Kim Cook, Kathleen Barnes and Christine Werschler; and her parents, Jenny and Brian McCallum. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and relatives whose lives she touched with her positivity and kindness. Lynda was predeceased by her grandparents, George and Rose Elyk.
Lynda will be remembered for her generous spirit, her humour, her love of nature, gardening, and travel, her dedication to the Lord, and most of all, the friendships and connections she made throughout her life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A Funeral Service and Reception will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Thompson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to contribute to funeral costs and a memorial headstone.
