Mabel was predeceased by her parents, George and Euphemia Brown and her siblings, sister Elva (Bud) Laroche, and twins George (May) Brown and Mildred (Allan) Tristram, as well as her nephew Ken Tristram.
Mabel will forever be remembered by her nephews and nieces Ross (Donna) Brown and family, Diane (David) Simon and family and Chad (Karen) Tristram and Joshua.
Mabel was born in Oberon, Manitoba on April 11, 1913 and moved to Winnipeg in 1918. Mabel's career centred around administration and she loved being a switchboard operator in several car dealerships. She enjoyed travelling, especially to Hawaii. You could find her hosting dinners at her place well into her nineties. She was not one for tea parties, but would share a glass of wine anytime. Her family meant the world to her and caring for them was her priority. She loved to laugh and always had a good joke or a witty response ready. Just imagine what Mabel has seen in her 103 years.
Mabel's family would like to thank the caregivers at Oakview for supporting Mabel for the past two and a half years.
A celebration of Mabel's life will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 1:00 pm at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Avenue. A reception will follow for stories, refreshments and fellowship in the Parish Hall.
