Mrs. Maria Ascencion Veloso

She is survived by her daughters Ma. Patrocinio (Jaime) and Ma. Rosario (Arturo); grandchildren Elias Patrick (Grace), Evangeline (Neil), Nathan (Angela), Ronald, Robert, and Rommel; great grandchildren Nina Gabrielle, Great Angelo, Lana Trinity, Elisa Adrienne, Benedict, Isaiah, Matthew Kent, Patricia, and Angeli; and many extended family, nieces, nephews and friends.

Ascension was predeceased by her loving husband Teodoro of 43 years, her daughter Ma. Victoria and Ma. Teresa.

Nanay Sion was born in Manila, Philippines in May 1920. In the late 70s, both her and Teodoro immigrated to Winnipeg where she worked at Riverview Health Centre. Soon after she retired, Ascencion helped raise her grandchildren and shared her joy of reading and serving others.

She will be remembered for the love she showed us, the care she provided us, and the values of humility and kindness she instilled in us.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home for their years of care and compassion.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00am, Friday March 1, 2019 at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. with viewing at 9:30am followed by a reception, and interment at Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley Street.
