Mom is survived by her children Levinia Scott, Mervin, Donald (Adrienne) and Leonard (Diane), sister-in–law Lena Yellowega, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Mom was born in Ashville Manitoba on January 5, 1920. She grew up and attended school in the Ethelbert area. Her first job was in McCreary Manitoba for 3 ½ years. This is where she met the love of her life Steve. They were married in 1940 and farmed in McCreary and Laurier, Manitoba. In 1955 the family moved to Winnipeg. Mom worked 7 years cleaning offices, then worked for St. Boniface Hospital where she became a housekeeping supervisor until her retirement in 1984.
She was a devoted member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, an active UCWLC member and a Citizen 50 club member. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and bingo. Mom took great joy in cooking and baking for her family that she loved so much.
We would like to extend a special thanks to the Doctors, nurses and staff of the St. John’s ward at Holy Family Nursing Home for the kind, compassionate and respectful care of our Mother for the last 10 years if her life.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holy Family Nursing Home, 165 Aberdeen Ave, Winnipeg MB, R2W-1T9 or a charity of your choice.
