OBITUARY

Michael Jordan

IN THE CARE OF

Thomson In The Park Funeral Home and Cemetery

Forever In Our Hearts

The family of Michael Jordan sadly announce his passing March 2026 at the age of 72 after a valiant battle with cancer. Mike leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved children Nicole (Joshua), Paul and their mother Doris.

Mike was born in Velbert, Germany in 1953 and came to Canada with his mother Hedy as a child. He lived in Winnipeg for the rest of his life where he married Doris in 1982 and they welcomed Paul in 1984 and Nicole in 1988.

He worked most of his adult life for the Manitoba Government first at the Department of Finance and later at Land Titles. After Mike retired in 2009 he enjoyed doing all the things he loved most. These included spending time with his children, travelling, hiking, biking, rollerblading, skating, music and weight training. Mike also enjoyed writing poetry and in 2015 published a book of his poetry entitled SEASONS poems. He was an avid reader and enjoyed the mystery genre especially the novels of Stephen King. Mike also enjoyed playing his guitars and attending concerts. His last days were spent enjoying some of his favorite songs by Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana and Dave Navarro.

He fought to the end but we pray that he is now at peace and will watch over us as we continue our journey in life. He was buried at Thomson in the Park Cemetery on McGillivray Blvd in a private ceremony with a "Celebration of his Life" afterwards, as were Mike's final wishes. Mike was loved and his fun spirit and zest for the outdoors will be forever missed. May the Lord welcome him to Heaven and grant him eternal peace. RIP
