On Wednesday, May 15, 2019 Michele Giancola passed away peacefully at the age of 81.
He is survived by his wife Lucia, two stepsons Carmen Carlucci (Andrea) and John Carlucci (Hilary); three sons Frank(Sheri), Tony and Joe; two brothers Peter (Pauline) and Salvatore; two sisters Rita and Delores; sisters in law Elda and Rita, as well as several cousins, nephews and nieces. He was a most caring and thoughtful grandfather to his six grandchildren Anthony, Tristan (Sarah), Adam(Kayla), Mia (Colin), Jordan and Kyle.
Michele was predeceased by his brothers Alberto, Giuseppe, Tony and Luigi, sisters in law Giuditta and Ruth and brother in law Pellegrino.
Michele was born on April 5, 1938 in Castelpetroso, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1960. In 1964, he married Lucia Zappetalle Carlucci, the love of his life. He proudly made his careers at BACM in construction and then at CPR as an over-head crane operator. His life revolved around his family and he enjoyed spending his free time at his lakefront cottage in Hnausa. Michele enjoyed traveling in either his motor home or his bright white Cadillac. Michele was a skilled handyman and was always generous and willing to help family and friends.
A heartfelt thank you to all the health care staff at HSC for their attention and care of Michele.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Holy Rosary Parish located at 510 River Avenue, Winnipeg. Viewing at 10 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 am. All are welcome at a reception at Green Acres Funeral Home after entombment at Holy Angel Mausoleum, Hwy 1 East at Navin Rd, Winnipeg.
