On May 25, 2026 with family by her side, Nelly Narciso peacefully passed away at the age of 86, at Golden West Centennial Lodge.
Nelly is predeceased by her loving husband Gerry, her brothers Arturo and Eddie, her sister Rose, and parents Rufina and Carmelito Lanuza. Left to cherish Nelly’s memory are her surviving siblings - Sally (Santiago), Helen (George) and Roy, her sisters-in-law Ellen and Ceferina, as well as her many nieces and nephews; especially Hanah and Brandon, whom she considered like her own children.
Born in Paniqui, Tarlac on September 8th, 1939, Nelly studied home economics at Wesleyan College before immigrating to Canada with her sister Sally in 1976. She completed a short contract as a nanny in Newfoundland before moving to Winnipeg to be closer to her family. Nelly first worked in a textile factory, then became a health care aide with a career spanning over 20 years before retiring at the age of 65. She was strong in her Christian faith, and liked listening to music and playing the piano. Nelly enjoyed family gatherings and the outdoors, especially flowers.
Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the homecare staff who helped care for Nelly, and the 4th floor nurses and health care aides at Golden West Centennial Lodge, where she spent her last year and a half. You were all a great help to Nelly and her family, and we are forever grateful.
Nelly’s viewing, funeral and reception will take place on June 8th at 6pm until 11:59pm at Thomson in the Park Funeral Home, all family and friends are welcome to attend.
