Ninh was born in Saigon, Vietnam on June 26, 1965 to parents Thieu Nguyen Tran and Tu Trinh. She was an active and inquisitive child. She moved to Canada in 1982 and later moved to a group home managed by Epic Opportunities in 1991.
Ninh enjoyed her life with her two best friends/housemates, as well as having a good time with her numerous Epic day and residential staff, helpers, caseworkers, many others. Ninh touched many people’s lives and was well loved by so many.
Ninh loved sports but excelled in bowling, and won many awards and trophies. She loved music, singing, and dancing. At dances Ninh would be the life of the dance floor, and had this gift of bringing joy to all and getting the whole room dancing alongside her. Ninh enjoyed food and shopping too. Ninh had always been “lively” and “opinionated”. Although Ninh had heard about Jesus and salvation, it was only about 12 years ago that she made the decision to receive Jesus as her Savior. She was baptized by her brother Reverend Wilson. She used to attend worship services at the Winnipeg Chinese Mennonite Brethren Church, the Winnipeg Chinese Alliance Church, and other churches. Ninh had enjoyed life in ways beyond suffering and pain! She had God's love, joy and peace in her heart. She even sang a wedding song in the hospital hallway just days ago before her “peaceful” departure! In talking with the hospital staff further, when the first snowfall happened a couple weeks ago, Ninh had all the staff and individuals on her ward singing Jingle Bells with her. Ninh cared for people and was always the first person to pray for somebody who was sick or unwell. She was also an amazing host, praying for them, sharing with them. She had been a blessing to many!
Ninh was predeceased by her parents and two older siblings, Hieu and Sam. She is survived by siblings Thu, Wilson, Luc, Dinh, Hinh, Norman and Ngu. Ninh's siblings want to express their deepest gratitude to those who have blessed Ninh through prayers and acts of kindness, especially to the staff of Epic Opportunities, the staff at Health Sciences Centre - D2, D4, D5, the dialysis and MICU teams.
