Mom was born in the RM of Stuartburn, MB. She moved to Winnipeg with her sisters Barbara and Mary, when she was 16 years old. She often mentioned how much fun she had, working with her sisters at the Woolworth’s lunch counter. In 1954, she met the love of her life, Paul, at a canteen dance, and they were married in 1955. From that moment on, they were inseparable. There were often referred to as two peas in a pod, as they did everything together. In 1962 they began their own successful business, Certified Carpet & Upholstery Cleaners. 59 Years later, the company is still family owned and now run by their grandson, Cole.
Mom was an amazing hostess. She and Dad loved having parties, hosting dinners, and entertaining their friends. Nothing was more important, however, then time spent with family. Their children and grandchildren always came first. Mom was a beautiful woman who had the remarkable ability to speak to anyone as if she were their age - the true definition of ageless.
A cherished smile, a heart of gold,
To the dearest Mom the world could hold.
Happy memories, fond and true,
For us who thought the world of you.
Mom is now with Dad, dancing together… forever.
There will be no formal service. A private family service, and dinner will be held in her honour.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
