Patrick Gérard Joseph Normand was taken from his loving family on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at the age of 51 years. Patrick was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on March 12, 1968.
He lived primarily in Saint Vital and attended Glenlawn Collegiate where he graduated high school. His love of travel and adventure took him West, as he explored life and nature living in Alberta and in particular Canmore. Patrick met his future wife Connie in 2003 in Calgary, Alberta while working for Safeway. They started dating April 13, 2003 and were married September 21, 2007 in Calgary. They moved shortly after that to Waldheim, Saskatchewan to start married life together. They then moved to Lumsden, Saskatchewan in June 2010 and continued to reside there until the time of Patrick’s passing. Patrick worked in various positions throughout his life and was a trained meat cutter. He most recently had been working for the City of Regina as a Safety Consultant, a job he was very proud of. Patrick’s hobbies included refinishing furniture, riding his motorcycle, hunting, doing home renovations and travelling. Patrick was predeceased by his father Honoré Normand.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 16 years, Connie; mother Germaine Normand of Winnipeg, Manitoba; brother Gérald (Barb) Normand of Guatemala; sister Ginette Normand of Winnipeg, Manitoba; daughter Karoll-Ann (David Vachon)Turgeon of Windsor, Quebec; grandchildren Livia and Èvely; nieces Dani (Chris Marciniak) Normand of Orangeville, Ontario, Kayla Villebrun-Normand of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Cierra and Savanna Reimer of Airdrie, Alberta; nephew Matthieu Normand of Hamilton, Ontario; great-niece Makaela Hunter-Normand of Brampton, Ontario; great-nephew Rémi Marciniak of Orangeville, Ontario; uncle Gerry Lafantaisie (godfather) of St. Malo, Manitoba; and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Carol (Howard) Smith, father-in-law Bob (Cec) Watson, brother-in-law Brett (Sue Lasher) Watson, and niece Shayla (Joel Peterson) Stephenson, as well as his pets Bailee, Sassy and Pandy.
The family would like to acknowledge Patrick’s many close friends, neighbors and coworkers, as well as Moose Jaw Police Service, Moose Jaw EMS, Moose Jaw Fire and the Lumsden RCMP.
Friends are invited to join the family at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 Victoria Avenue East, Regina, Saskatchewan on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. for a Come and Go Visitation. A Celebration of Patrick’s Life will be held at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
A Come and Go Reception has been planned for Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Video Tribute and Eulogy starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway 1 East at Navin Road Winnipeg, Manitoba.
