~Always Remembered~

Quietly on April 17, 2021, Pauline passed away at the age of 71 at the Charleswood Care Home in Winnipeg. She was more than ready to join her beloved James, whom she lost to cancer in 2017.

Left to mourn her passing is her daughter Tracy (Paul) Lampert, son Richard (Laura) McKay, brother Michael (Barbara) Davies, and nephew Ryan (Blair) Lee. She leaves behind grandchildren Emma, Ethan, Ella and Everest.

Pauline grew up in Winnipeg’s North end, raised by “Aunty Bridie” with her two older brothers Edward and Michael. Always a busy tomboy, she played every sport she could. Pauline also took time to play the organ for St. Edward’s Church. After marrying her sweetheart, Jim, (at that very church) in 1970, they soon moved out to Portage la Prairie. While Jim got his accounting business going, Pauline had many different occupations, including being a mom to Tracy and Richard. She sold Tupperware, was in sales at Woolco, and worked as a secretary for the Portage Chamber of Commerce. She made lifelong friends at the Elm River Colony when she was a teacher’s aid there. She enjoyed her time working at Berkley and at McCain’s with all the extracurricular activities involved. She made friends everywhere she went, so collected quite a varied group of people! After winning her battle with breast cancer, she volunteered at CancerCare. Later in life she took up hiking, then golfing, but nothing could ever come close to her true love, fishing. She was happiest in the boat, rod in hand, surrounded by her family, at the lake.

We will miss her colorful character, busy personality, and everything she contributed to those around her. A small family gathering will be held privately.

My deepest sympathy Tracy, Richard and families on the loss of your beloved Mom. She was so very proud of you all.
So many visits shared when she worked at the Chamber, and I at the United Way. Lots of fun times out cross country skiing way back when. Pauline always had a smile on her face. Her glass was always "half full", even when your father was battling cancer. I so admired her spunk and spirit. Shocked and saddened to just learn of her passing. Heartfelt thoughts to you in this time of sadness and sorrow.

So saddened for the family on the loss of your beloved, Pauline.
I first met Pauline at the Portage Golf Course a few years ago. My friend, Barb & I were paired with Pauline & her friend, Roz for the Portage Ladies' Open golf tournament.
Pauline was such a spirited lady with a pleasant sense of humour & a "smile-a-mile" wide. Her enthusiasm & giggles were boundless.
We totally enjoyed that day, so much so, that we played golf in the Portage Open with Pauline & Roz again the following year.
Thanks for the good times, Pauline. Rest peacefully, my dear.
Hugs, Lil ...

So sorry for your loss of Pauline and Jimmy. Jim spent alot of time with us at the Farm years ago. Bobs Mother and Uncle Bob were sister and brother. We were at your parents wedding. We remember Pauline as bubbly and laughing, a happy person.

I have fond memories of Pauline at St.Ed’s,as well as her dear aunt and the boys. She used to throw snowballs at my bedroom window to wake me for school! Our house was on the corner of Wpg. and Arlington and we would walk home together. I still remember dancing with her like crazy at her wedding.I hope that she and Jim enjoyed the wool blanket that we gave them. Rest In Peace dear school mate and neighbour.
