IN THE CARE OF

Thomson In The Park Funeral Home and Cemetery

Always In Our Hearts

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father Peter J. Nowicki in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 90 years.

Born in Hazelridge, Manitoba, Peter grew up in the small rural community of Cooks Creek, MB. In September 1953, after completing school, as a young man he went to work for the Canadian National Railway, Transcona Yard, as a Carman. While working for the railway, he continued to farm wheat near his childhood home for many years.

In June 1959, he married Dorothy Babiuk. In 1963 their son, Scott was born and in 1966, their daughter Karen came along. Peter was a loving, caring, and devoted husband, father and grandfather each and every day of his life. Throughout their life together, Peter and Dot loved to spend time with family and friends and participated in many activities together, enjoying life to the fullest. There were many camping excursions, family vacations both in Canada and the US and of course participating in community activities and celebrations. Peter was always keeping busy, took pride in all his work and was committed to doing his best at everything he did.

Peter retired from the CNR in December 1992. During retirement, he and Dorothy loved to travel. Destinations included Hawaii, Mexico, Las Vegas, Victoria, BC, Ottawa, London, ON and around Alberta. They also participated on bus trips to US destinations.

Peter is predeceased by his wife Dorothy, parents John and Annie Nowicki, brother Paul, sisters Helen and Mary-Anne. He is survived by son, Scott (Debbie), and granddaughter Erin, of Winnipeg as well as his daughter Karen (Kevin) of Leduc County, AB. He is also survived by an extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends.

2 Timothy 4:7 -" I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Dad, we hold tightly to the promise that you are now with the Lord, whole and restored and reunited with Mom.

There will be no service. Cremation has taken place, with a private family interment at a later date.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Those wishing to do so may make a donation to a charity of their choice.
