Raymond Klyne

4 March, 1934 – 17 December, 2024
IN THE CARE OF

Thomson In The Park Funeral Home and Cemetery

Remembered With Love

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Raymond Joseph Klyne on December 17th, 2024 at the age of 90 at his residence at Southeast Personal Care Home – House #5

He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 67 years, Louise (a.k.a. Lulu) Klyne, and his 5 children, Kathie (Jim), Debbie (Tim), Danny, Jeff (Lori), Mandy (Gerry) and also his 11 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren Shannon, Matthew & Bobbie (Michael), Kristy & Owen, Christopher, Ashley & Paul (Carter, Celina, Camron), Janessa & Todd (Colten, Brayden), Andrew (Colby, Leon), Mackenzie, Benjamin & Allie, Kyle and Bradley. Dad is survived by only 2 brothers, Nelson Klyne and Ernest Klyne and Sisters and Brothers in law, Dora Houlden, Frieda (Gordie) Hunt, and Phyllis Arnfinson, and Bill Smith and also numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Dad was born to Julius and Alexina on March 4, 1934 in Portage la Prairie, MB and grew up in St. Ambroise, MB until he moved into Winnipeg as a young man to begin his life in the big City. One of his first jobs in Winnipeg in 1956 was working at The Sherwin Williams Paint Company. He really enjoyed that job and often would tell us kids all about it. In 1957 he married the love of his life, our Mom Louise, and they started their family. Dad first worked for the Megus Brothers for a few years and then on September 1, 1964 he was hired on by The City of Winnipeg and retired his career as a Foreman in the Refuse Department on April 20, 1991. Dad was very proud of how he made his way up the ladder and he worked very hard to provide a very good life for all of us!

Dad had many interests in his lifetime, some of which were camping, fishing, cooking, taking care of his many cars and trucks (we would all joke that he would one day wash the paint off his vehicles because he was always at the car wash) and our Dad loved singing with our Mom and especially loved to Dance the Jig. We are certain that he is continuing to be the “Life of the Party” up in Heaven with all the Angels who welcomed Him with open arms.

We will be honouring our Father with a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 25th, 2025 at 10:30am at Southeast Personal Care Home 1265 Lee Blvd, Winnipeg MB.

As per our Father’s wishes, cremation has taken place and he will be placed to rest in the niche that he and our Mother chose in the Serenity Room at Thompson “In the Park” Funeral Home at a later date.

Our family would like to express our most heartfelt gratitude for the excellent care that was given to our Dad and continues to be given to our Mom by the staff from all departments at the Southeast PCH, especially House #5 where he and Mom have resided for the past year. We deeply appreciate the compassion, kindness, empathy and generosity that the staff at SEPCH has shown our family during this very difficult time. We are also grateful for the love and care provided to our Dad by his personal caregiver, Linda Maude, who treated him like her own Father and continues to love and support Lulu as she adjusts to her new life without our Dad.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Southeast Personal Care Home 1265 Lee Blvd, Winnipeg, MB in memory of Raymond Klyne or to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba
