Rikh was born in Mission, BC on August 10, 1963 to Joginder Kaur Dhaliwal and (late) Balwant Singh Dhaliwal. He is the grandson of Sikh pioneer Bhagat Singh Dhaliwal who settled in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia in 1906. Rikh moved to Winnipeg soon after marrying his wife of 31 years Sati Dhaliwal. Rikh is survived by his Mother Joginder Kaur Dhaliwal (Mission), wife Sati Dhaliwal, children Isha and Rajpal and nephew Gagan (Winnipeg), brother Juggy (Ontario) and four sisters: Meena (Alberta), Cindy (BC), Amrit (BC) and Kimmy(BC).
No one who met Rikh forgot his infectious smile and his passion for trucks, muscle cars and dirt bikes. His passion for trucks started at a young age as he followed in his Father and Grand-Father steps as a truck driver. This enthusiasm continued throughout his career with his participation in truck shows and demonstrated by the numerous awards and accolades. We share this loss with his “trucker family”, their condolences, and love is appreciated by all. His love for bikes is shared with his children, and they will honour his memory by continuing this activity.
Rikh always made time for his family and friends. His humor, antics and jokes were legendary. Even during difficult times, he had the unique ability to make people smile. This is not just a great loss to our family but to everyone he touched.
