Robert Ronald Ward, 55 of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening of April 2nd, 2026, surrounded by his family & support team.
Robert was born Deaf on October 3rd, 1970, in Winnipeg, Manitoba and spent his life in Winnipeg, Manitoba with his grandparents on the farm. He spent his summers on the farm at Roblin, Manitoba with his Baba and Gigi (Grandpa and grandma), Betty and Mike Fedeniuk. Rob loved the farm. He traveled from Brandon to Winnipeg to attend and stay at the dorm at Manitoba School for the Deaf (MSD) for one year only. He graduated from MSD in June 1992.
He went to South Winnipeg Technical Centre (SWTC) in 1989 to take Commercial Food Service course and graduated in June 1991.
He worked at various restaurants over the years like The Fork and Cork Bistro, & Salisbury House.
He got a job at AppleBee’s Restaurant on Grant on Sept 6th, 1996, and worked there for 21 years. His profound love is cooking. He was a wonderful chef! After Applebee’s restaurant, he went to work at Assiniboine Zoo to work there as Custodian from May 2019 to June 1st, 2020.
He is survived by his sister Tricia Fedenuik (Rick Pemkowski), his aunt Maxine, Bernadette and Ruth and cousins. He was predeceased by his parent (Sandy & Bob Ward) and grandparents (Mike and Betty Fedenuik).
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 22nd, 2026, at 10 am at Thomson Funeral Home on 669 Broadway. Please wear blue to remember Robert.
