Great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Emmett, Harper and Willow. Also brothers, Joe, Ed, Jim (Diane), John (Lynn), and sister Ann (Doug), and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Rudy was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Olga Hudrick, brothers Tony and Donald, sister Mary, sister-in-law Irene, and son-in-law Rob.
Rudy was born January 21st, 1944 in Lorette MB, where he and Mom continued to live raising his family. He was a stern, but fair father who helped to teach his children to work hard and play just as hard. He was proud of each one of us. He adored his grandchildren; spoiling them as children and watching them grow. This last year he was blessed to welcome and love his two great granddaughters.
Rudy was known for his amazing strength, a man with large hands and a heart to match. He was an individual of few words, but was always ready to find the next person to tease.
Rudy worked in construction throughout his life, where he was well respected. He was a generous man who would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. He was an avid hunter, spending many years creating memories with his buddy John and cousin Joe. It’s very likely they will meet in heaven sharing the stories we have all heard so many times. He enjoyed his fishing trips with his friend Emil at some secluded lakes in Ontario, known as Rudy’s Lake and Emil’s Lake; one was for pickerel and the other trout. For many years, each Thanksgiving, he would insist on his marathon trips to Creston, BC to pick apples, filling his truck until the bumper scraped the ground.
Rudy & Denise enjoyed vacations together to many destinations. The restoration of his 1967 Dodge Monaco, was the beginning of the many summer journey’s with a car club, Kustom Klassics. Along this adventure, they made many lifelong friends in both Canada and the United States.
We all love you dearly and will share your memory with great respect, and joy. Rest easy, stay out of trouble! Until we meet again.
The Family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses for their treatment and support with Rudy’s 11 year battle with cancer. Due to current circumstances, a service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.
