

Saba will be lovingly remembered by his wife Gnana of 44 years and life partner for 54 years, his children Dr. Julian Saba (Jessica) and Dr. Reuben Saba; his grandsons, Jude and Perry; his siblings Shanmuganathan, Sivanathan, Nageswari, Eswari and his numerous nieces and nephews. Saba was predeceased by his parents Velupillai Nadarajah, Nagammah (Kathiravelu) and his sisters Thavamani and Parameswari.
Saba was born in Sunghi Patani, Malaysia in 1940. His family immigrated to Sri Lanka in 1947. Saba spent his formative years in Araly, Jaffna, Sri Lanka. He graduated from Jaffna College Secondary where he was a student councillor in his senior years. Saba was an avid sports member of the Jaffna College soccer, cricket and athletic teams. Saba went onto obtain a diploma in accounting. He worked for 18 years as an assistant accountant at Hotel Taprobane in Colombo, Sri Lanka. In 1965, Saba met the love of his life, Gnana, and they married in 1974. They soon welcomed their sons Julian and Reuben.
In 1984, the family immigrated to Canada and settled in Winnipeg. Saba operated a small business in Winnipeg until his retirement in 2001. Leading up to and during his retirement, Saba was involved within the local Tamil Community in Winnipeg, for many years helping to organize the Tamil Pavilion at Folklorama. Saba also enjoyed gardening and his green thumb was the envy of neighbours and family. Saba was also an avid sports fan following numerous sports, simultaneously.
In the past few years, he enjoyed spending time with his two grandsons who kept him busy and entertained in his retirement. His love for them is unending.
