It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Sheldon Wu on June 25, 2026 at the age of 87.
He will be missed and remembered by his wife, Betty, his children, Polly (Gary), Allen (Elan), and Kelly (Angie); his grandchildren, Daniel (Yvette), Collin, Derrick (Abby), Marissa, and Xavier. He also leaves behind, his siblings Teresa (Joseph), Clarence, and Mabel (Andrew); many nieces and nephews and other relatives from around the world. Family was everything to him!
Sheldon was born and raised in Hong Kong, and immigrated to Canada in the early 1960’s, moved to Winnipeg where he and Betty started and raised their family.
To know Sheldon was to be welcomed as a part of his extended family. He was a familiar, friendly face in the community and relished about his high school days from Pui Ching middle school. Whether he was cheering on local sports, gathering with his wide circle of friends, or participating in church events, he brought people together. He cherished his friendships and was deeply grateful for the love and camaraderie he shared with those around him throughout his life.
The family would like to thank the staff at Grace Hospital – 5N and Golden Door Geriatric Centre for the care provided to Sheldon.
There will be a memorial service and viewing held at Thomson in the Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg, starting at 10am. Refreshments to follow.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to
Grace Hospital https://www.gracehospitalfoundation.ca/, or to the charity of your choice.
