Our beautiful, wonderful, amazing wife and mother, Shirley Desrosiers, passed away suddenly at age 85 Thursday morning, April 27, 2023. Shirley was predeceased by parents Leopold and Olivine (née Richard) Demarcke and her sister Carol Bergmann.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Paul Desrosiers, sister, Cécile (Ed) Strembicki, brother-in-law, Vic Bergmann, and her children, Ron Desrosiers (Debra Acton), Rick Desrosiers and Deanna (Merv) Richardson.
She was a much-loved grandmother to Monique (Pat) Huberdeau, Ryan Desrosiers, Nathan (Holly) Desrosiers, Ecko Baldwin, Kaylan and Luke Richardson, and her four great-grandchildren Arianne, Brielle, and Marco Huberdeau and Parker Desrosiers. She will also be remembered by Sherri Desrosiers, Midge Cardoso, and her many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Shirley cherished the time she spent with family and friends. She loved children, which was a large part of why she became a teacher. Her passion for art and creativity kept her hands very busy; they were rarely still. She was always busy creating beautiful pieces of art for those she loved. Petit point, cross stitch, painting, greeting cards, hand-making Barbie clothes, and puzzle making were some of her favourite past times.
The interment will take place at Green Acres Cemetery on May 18th at 9:30 AM (Highway 1, East at Navin Road), followed by a Celebration of Life at the Belgium Club (407 Provencher Blvd) at 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Morris MCC by cheque, 162 Charles Street, Box 62, Morris, Manitoba R0G1K0.
