Predeceased by Michael B. (Mike) O’Hara, her husband of over 57 years, Shirley passed away on May 29, 2021.
Born in Winnipeg, she was the youngest of three children of the late Jesse (nee Martin) and Andrew Scott, both Scottish immigrants.
Surviving are three sons Richard (Barbara), Scott (Cindy), and Bruce (Kari), five grandchildren Leah, Julie, Gabby, Declan and Carter, as well as two step grandchildren Cole and Taylor.
Shirley was a life-long resident of Winnipeg with the exception of the years 1942-48 and 1961-64 when she resided in Brandon. She attended Wellington and Gordon Bell schools in Winnipeg and Park, Alexandra and Earl Oxford in Brandon. Taking many updating courses over the years, Shirley held a number of secretarial/accounting positions retiring from James Richardson & Sons Ltd. In 1995.
Active in Brandon & Winnipeg Kinette clubs in earlier days, Shirley was also Gyrette Club President in Winnipeg as well as Silver Heights Community Club for a number of years.
According to Shirley’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at a future date.
