Simarjit Kaur Kalkat

On Monday, February 3rd, 2022 at 1:13 pm, Simarjit Kaur Kalkat, (68), peacefully passed away surrounded by family at St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, MB.

Simarjit Kalkat was the widower of her husband, Davinder Kalkat. She will be sadly missed by her son, Ajay Singh Kalkat, daughter-in-law, Raj, and three grandchildren, Rosekiran, Kamal, and Abhijay Kalkat.

Simarjit was born on February 11th, 1953, Ajram, Punjab, India. She was the daughter of Mr. Sohan Singh Judge and Mrs. Ajit Kaur. She migrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 2004, along with her husband Davinder Kalkat to join their son in Canada. For many years, Simarjit was an active prenatal nurse with the Punjab Government, in Phagwara and Adampur, Punjab, India. She took care of numerous female patients, helping deliver their babies during her professional life in the Indian healthcare.

Simarjit had an independent nature. She was an exceptional cook and enjoyed feeding family and friends. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, who spent most of her later Winnipeg life looking after her grandchildren and doing daily prayers. She had a beautiful smile every time she saw one of her grandchildren. Simarjit was a very generous and religious person.

Simarjit’s beautiful life will forever be cherished by her many friends and family in Winnipeg and across Canada, the USA, the UK, and India.
