My heartfelt condolences to the entire family. In the time I have known Subhash Bua, I feel so blessed to have shared such a special bond with her. I will always cherish the wonderful times we spent together during her visits to Toronto, sharing lunches, dinners, laughter and lovely conversations. She was such a sweet, warm and loving person, and I always looked forward to our time together. I am grateful for the beautiful memories we created and take comfort in knowing she is now at peace. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. ❤️❤️

The Maingi's had a custom of visiting the Oberoi family at Christmas time and in the summers. We would travel by train. We have many memories of spending time together, laughing, sharing stories and just hanging out together. Even in the cold Thompson/Winnipeg winters we felt the warmth of family. Massi and KK uncle were always such gracious host and open their homes and hearts to us and introduced us to new experiences like fishing and camping. The last time we were there was at Massi's 80th birthday and we also had an experience of camping, boating and fishing at that time. We all have such wonderful memories of it.

The Maingi family have many memories of visiting the Oberoi family in the 70s and 80s at Christmas time and in the summers. It was a wonderful time of being together. We had many new experiences such as fishing and camping which we were relatively new to. Massi and KK uncle we're always such gracious hosts and opened their homes and hearts to our family and even in the brutal Thompson/Winnipeg winters we always felt the warmth of family.  Our last trip there was at Massi's 80th birthday, where we also had the opportunity to camp, fish and enjoy a great boating experience.

A Heartfelt Tribute to Aunt Subhash Oberoi
My sincerest condolences go out to my cousins Nitin and Shibani Oberoi, to her grandchildren Tia, Natasha, and Sanjay, and to all the rest of the family. I also extend my deepest, most heartfelt condolences to Subhash Auntie's beloved sisters, Madhu Maingi and Anita Chopra, and her only brother, Uncle Yogi Suri.
I would like to pay a tribute to the memory of Aunt Subhash Oberoi, on behalf of myself and my father—Subhash's first cousin, the Late YM Bedi. Aunt Subhash was a remarkably kind, cultured, and sensitive person. While she was first and foremost born a "Suri," she was also the eldest living descendant in North America of my Great-Grandfather, Bawa Madho Ram Bedi. Being almost the exact same age as my father, they grew up together.
Myself and my family hold  fond memories of her and her family’s warm hospitality. When we passed through Winnipeg in the summer of 1979 during a family road trip to British Columbia, she gratefully opened her doors to us. Years later, in September 1983, when I was chasing my West Coast dreams and hitchhiking across Canada, she once again welcomed me into her home on the pond in Winnipeg for a few days. 
For my father’s Celebration of Life on October 14, 2018, Aunt Subhash flew in to attend the ceremonies at my home. She stayed with us through the Shiva Puja, the Arya Samaj Hawan, and finally, the Asthi‑Visarjana Ceremony (अस्थि-विसर्जन) for the immersion and dispersal of my father’s ashes on the Rouge River. From that pivotal moment onward, our relationship truly flowered. We corresponded deeply regarding the Bedi family history and genealogical matters, a gift for which I am forever grateful.I see Aunt Subhash resting peacefully and joyfully now, celebrating and rejoicing with her many departed family members, while reflecting on a life beautifully lived  in service to God,  and her beloved family.

Thank you for all the wonderful memories. I spent summers with you in Winnipeg from the time I was little and you always made me feel so welcome and cared for. You made sure I had friends and was happy being there and I’ll always remember your kindness, your delicious caramel popcorn and cookies, and how creative you were with your knitting and gardening. I feel lucky to have had those summers with you. I hope you’re at peace now and that God is taking good care of you. You’ll always have a special place in my heart. Love you bhua.
