I’ll miss Terry. She was always part of my life. She was my sister but also my close friend. We spent many good times together laughing, talking, sorting out our lives. She had a generous nature and would always accept people for who they were.

We often went to discount and thrift stores, flea markets and craft shows. She made it fun. She was fascinated with the quirky and obsessive things people would produce. Then there were the doll trade shows! She was an avid collector. The most sought after were the antiques and ones with unusual faces. More than once, as I followed her through the checkout line, the clerk would remark on her beautiful eyes – so clear, so blue.

The obsession for dolls went back years. As young girls, my sister Jane and I would secretly spy on Terry when, as a teenager, she and her friend would still play with dolls. Even Jane and I had left that behind but this was her passion.

In her final months she was in pain.  With her selfless nature, she would never complain, instead asking how others were doing. Her deteriorating health made her passing bearable.

 I am without her, but left with the memories of the good times we shared together. She was a gem.

I have countless cherished memories of Terry from my childhood, and I’m deeply grateful for the time we shared. From the enjoyable meals at Cheers and Pat’s Lunch to our walks around downtown and the many hours I spent by her desk “helping” with her work, those moments are etched in my heart. Her laughter, warmth, and kindness left a lasting impression on me. Terry’s generosity and spirit touched so many lives.

My family and I are profoundly saddened by her passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences to the Bergen’s and the entire family.

My family would visit Winnipeg every summer when I was a child. The Bergens were very close friends of my granny and grandpa. 
I remember Terry from when I was a little girl. I would knock on the back door, and she would invite me in. 
She was always so kind, and gentle. 
One thing I remember the most about going to visit at their house and call on Judy to play, is the teapot !
 There was always tea in the pot. It was usually cold tea, but it was always ready for you when you arrived.
Still to this day, I drink cold tea from the pot!
Thinking of Terry and the kindness that she showed me brings immense love to my heart.
 I love how she always showed interest me by asking questions and being such a good listener.

Another fun memory to share is the time when we were coming home from visiting with Judy‘s grandparents… Jim was driving, with Terry in the passenger seat. She was always pushing her foot on the invisible break on her side because she was such a nervous passenger. She would laugh along with us kids because she knew that the brakes  was on Jim side.
She had such a good sense of humor.

It is thanks to beautiful souls like hers that made a big difference any young girls life.

I am sure Jim was standing there with open arms waiting for her arrival.
