Tonya, a proud and cherished member of the Sagkeeng Anishinaabe First Nation, passed away in her hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba. She carried the spirit of her Ojibway culture with immense pride, honouring her culture and traditions throughout her life.
Tonya was born on June 29, 1971, to Dwayne Moar and the late MaryCarole Fontaine. She was predeceased by her mother and her beloved baby brother, Chauncy, who passed away at seven months old.
Above all, Tonya adored her family. She leaves behind her loving husband, Glen Field; her devoted children, Dylan Pereira and Ashten Field; her father, Dwayne Moar(Gina Moar); and her siblings, Talia Fontaine, Shauna Fontaine, and Erynn Moar, Melanie Swan, Jaymie Moar. She was a cherished aunt to Ethan, Davin, Lyla (Shauna), Kayleen, Phil, Morgan, Ray, Storm (Melanie), Justice, Neveada, Noah, Brendon (Jaymie), Shawney, Greyson, Michael and Joseph (Erynn). Her warm presence will also be deeply missed by countless friends and extended family members whose lives she touched.
Tonya was a beacon of kindness and love, a comforting figure in both her community and professional life. She dedicated her career to helping others as a family support worker in child welfare, where her compassion and empathy illuminated the paths of many families. Tonya believed in our families and worked to reunify families impacted by the child welfare system.
Her gentle strength, enduring patience, and the relaxed, non-judgmental nature with which she approached the world were among her most treasured gifts to us all. Tonya's ability to love unconditionally will remain a guiding light for everyone who knew her.
A celebration of Tonya’s remarkable life will be held on Saturday, May 11th, 2024, at 2:00PM at the Thomson "In The Park" Funeral Home located at 1291 McGillivray BIvd. We invite friends and family to join us in remembering her incredible legacy.

Your legacy is everlasting, and your spirit continues to inspire and enrich our lives.
Rest in power, beautiful mama.
