Always In Our Hearts

On September 14, 2024, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Valdene Anne Johnson, passed away.

Valdene was a wife, mom, mom-in-law, grandma, sister, aunt and friend.

Mom was born in Morris, Manitoba to Ralph and Anne Third. A little sister to Sandra. The family moved to Winnipeg when Mom was a little girl. She attended John M. King school and Tech Voc. She met Johnny (Art) Johnson while in school. In 1960 they married, started a family and moved to Fort Rouge, where they lived until Dad's passing in 2015.

Mom was honoured to be a life member of the Girl Guides of Canada. She began volunteering with Brownies in the early 1970s and continued on in various roles including Deputy Provincial Commissioner. Mom was also a talented knitter and gardener.

Left to carry on the fun memories are; Geri Johnson, Pam and Jim McCallum, Diane and Jamie Hancock; grandchildren Shauna Hancock (Justin), Keenan McCallum and Graham McCallum (Kayla); her brother-in-law Jake Loewen and his family Cindy, Brian and Jason Koltalo as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In true Girl Guide spirit, Mom has requested, that in her memory, you take a moment to do something nice for someone.
