It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Vickie Lynne Cameron at the St. Boniface Hospital. She was born in Winnipeg, MB, where she lived her whole life.
Vickie is predeceased by her parents Leslie Cameron (Mabel) and her stepfather David Lawson.
Vickie had a zest for life, enjoyed travelling, and experiencing new adventures like learning to fly a plane just because she wanted to. She loved meeting new people and had the ability to instantly be friends with anyone she would meet. Vickie was the life of the party, she had an infectious laugh and loved to sing and dance. She was powerful woman with a gentle soul. Vickie would always be the first to offer help, even to the end when she became ill, she never stopped caring for everyone else around her before thinking of herself.
But, above all else, Vickie loved and lived for her children Zachary (Robynne) and Marlena (Christian) Dupuis who will lovingly miss her. She will also be greatly missed by her ex-husband Denis Dupuis, her mother Beryle Lawson, and her uncle Jim McKay. She was her mother’s daughter to the end.
The family would like to extend their most heartfelt and sincere thanks to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital ICCS - especially the ICU nurses; Salomon, Carly, Jill, Paulo, and most of all Reggie; and Drs. Brudney, Jacobson, Aurora and fellow Dr. Christina for their care and empathy.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 18 at 10:00 am at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home. (Proof of vaccination required to attend). A Celebration of Life for Vickie will be held at the Fort Garry Hotel. Vickie loved a good gathering with her loved ones and if you would like to participate, please join using the link: https://youtu.be/-VFZNaOqvXE , or access via the Thomson website.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Winnipeg Humane Society by calling 204-982-2041, for Vickie’s love for all animals.
Mum, you were a force of nature, tall and beautiful, with the heart and soul of an angel. You were the strongest person and overcame so many of life’s obstacles. Be at peace, you can rest now.
